Buddha’s Light Scouts first originated in Taiwan in 2000. Since then, groups have been set up in various Fo Guang Shan temples all over the world, operating under the umbrella of Buddha’s Light International Association. Our vision is for youth to learn and develop in a happy and family-orientated environment with Buddhist values and ethics, and cultivate the practice of the Three Acts of Goodness, that is ‘Do good deeds, say good words, think good thoughts’.
The purpose of Scouting is to contribute to the education of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual potential as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities.
